QuickTime: The CD 1994 is the third in a series of CD ROMs featuring the winners of the International QuickTime Film Festival held in Tokyo and San Francisco.
QuickTime: The CD 1994 is a set of two hybrid-format CD ROMs which play on both Macintosh and Windows personal computers. QuickTime: The CD 1994 includes over two hours of QuickTime movies as well as several interactive entries. The title contains over fifty separate works from the world’s best QuickTime movie producers—over 900 megabytes of the finest digital video you will find anywhere.
This year’s categories include: Animation, Commercial, Documentary, Educational, Experimental, Humor, Micromovies, Music Video, and Narrative.
New to this year’s issue of QuickTime: The CD is a movie browser which allows random access to any movie on the CD and plays the movies on an elegant black background. Thanks to improvements in QuickTime technology, many of this year’s entries are presented with a 320 x 240 pixel frame size. The Grand Prize winners include Evergreen, an exquisite Japanese animation, Das Simulation, a philosopical experimental piece, and Undo Me, an interactive music video using state-of-the-art techniques and effects.
